Q&A With Tee Ganbold, Co-Founder and CEO of Improvability AI.
Last December, DevryBV Sustainable Strategies crossed a critical threshold by entering into a strategic partnership with Improvability AI. Together, our companies set an ambitious goal: to transform sustainability at the local level for businesses by using artificial intelligence to manage a company’s data so that leaders can swiftly get a baseline of its sustainability footprint and begin addressing the issues in their supply chain. Below is our Q&A with Tee Ganbold, the co-founder and CEO of the company.
Q: DevryBV: What was the moment or conversation that motivated you to start Improvability AI?
A: Tee Ganbold: What motivated me to start Improvability AI was a combination of my personal experiences and professional journey. Born in Mongolia and raised in London, I aspired to become a fighter jet pilot, but societal pressures led me to pursue a different path. This regret fueled my commitment to encourage young girls to follow their passions, especially in STEM fields.
Having founded a company in the supply chain sector and worked with another, I developed an interest in the climate and ESG space. I noticed that many organizations struggled to follow their passion and goals in sustainability due to the complexity of reporting requirements. This realization drove me to team up with Daniel Ellison to found Improvability AI, where we use AI to simplify processes and help companies streamline reporting.
Q: DevryBV: What are some examples of how sustainability teams can use Improvability AI in their daily work?
A: Tee Ganbold: Sustainability teams can leverage Improvability AI in their daily work through several critical applications, such as streamlining data management and enhancing research capabilities. Our pilot projects are based on this—from consultancies and financial firms to banks. Our AI-powered platform helps manage and integrate sustainability data efficiently, while our research assistant tool automates repetitive tasks, allowing teams to focus on strategic decisions. Our mission is to further assist companies by creating automated report writing and customizable templates, ensuring that reporting is accurate, compliant, and tailored to specific needs. This integration significantly boosts efficiency, accuracy, and impact in sustainability initiatives.
Q: DevryBV: How is Improvability AI incorporating citations and fact-checking into the generated responses of its products?
A: Tee Ganbold: Improvability AI incorporates citations and fact-checking by ensuring all responses are backed by links to original documents, with page-level verification for PDFs and similar formats. Our platform is designed to rely exclusively on provided information, avoiding using training data or general knowledge. This approach enhances traceability and accuracy, allowing users to verify the sources and trust the integrity of the AI-generated content. By focusing on detailed data processing and filtering, we mitigate the risks of inaccuracies and ensure comprehensive, reliable reporting.
Q: DevryBV: What safeguards are in place to protect the privacy and proprietary information that SMEs are putting into Improvability AI?
A: Tee Ganbold: Improvability AI safeguards the privacy and proprietary information of SMEs, consultancies, NGOs, and enterprises through robust end-to-end encryption on par with other functions, ensuring all communication between clients, servers, and applications is secure. Our platform enforces strict user authentication, access control, and data partitioning to ensure that only authorized individuals can access sensitive information. Data ownership remains with our clients, and we do not use their data beyond platform operations without explicit agreements.
Additionally, through our vendors and data from processors, we maintain private data libraries and comply with international security standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and SOC2. Our platform leverages secure infrastructure from AWS and Pinecone, which adhere to stringent security protocols. Advanced data processing capabilities and secure data retirement and deletion processes further protect the integrity and confidentiality of SME data.
Q: DevryBV: What are your growth plans for Improvability AI?
A: Tee Ganbold: Our 2024 growth plan at Improvability AI focuses on four key objectives: expanding our customer base for the research assistant tool, developing fully automated AI-driven reporting software for sustainability, co-creating personalized reporting tools with design partners, and positioning ourselves as the go-to B2B software for all reporting needs in a market worth billions. We aim to become the one tool for reporting—a sector-agnostic reporting AI.
