DevryBV Sustainable Strategies Joins Expo 2031 as Founding Partner to Bring the World Horticultural Exposition to Minnesota
August 12, 2024 – Minneapolis, MN. Expo 2031 is pleased to announce that DevryBV Sustainable Strategies has joined the organization as a Founding Partner.
DevryBV’s team will be working alongside executives at other supporting organizations including Medical Alley, DLR Group, the University of Minnesota, and horticulture industry supporters Ryan McEnaney, Expo 2031 Board Chair, and Susan Bachman West of Bachman’s Inc., to help bring the World Horticultural Exposition to the state in 2031.
Plants. Nature. People.
The International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), which oversees the Expo, is an organization that strives for a world where the essential value of plants is recognized and reflected in every step forward for humanity.
“At DevryBV Sustainable Strategies, our purpose is to inspire business to courageously serve humanity, so supporting Expo 2031 is an investment in a partner with a shared vision,” said Devry Boughner Vorwerk, CEO of the firm. “Minnesota and the Twin Cities is the ideal central location for the international community to convene and to elevate the role of horticulture in a healthy society,” she added. “Our local and global clients that are part of the plant economy are looking for platforms to showcase their sustainable brands, services, technologies, and products, and Expo2031 is that place.”
Across its programming and performance objectives, Expo 2031 has integrated the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, a global initiative that DevryBV has extensive expertise in advancing. Moreover, the design framework will go beyond building Expo 2031’s facilities. It will include educating participants about crucial design principles at the intersection of horticulture and urban living.
“It’s possible to elevate the human experience through design,” said David Loehr, a Principal at DLR Group and the Chief Architect at Expo 2031. “Integrating sustainable design principles, such as using plant-based materials and creating climate-smart environments, is at the core of projects that the DLR Group develops globally,” he added.
“Expo 2031 is where the shared goals of advancing the human condition and leveraging horticulture meet,” said Wendy Meadley, the CEO of Expo 2031 Minnesota, USA. “The top minds in the world who see plants as necessary solutions for the global population to thrive for future generations will be participating,” she added.
